SDCAA Successfully Hosts Legal Aid Clinic to Serve the Local Chinese Community

On October 26, the San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association (SDCAA) successfully held its Legal Aid Clinic at Pacific Coast Trial Law Firm. The event provided free legal consultations to community members on a wide range of topics including family and marriage, immigration, taxation, real estate, personal injury, trusts and estate planning, business law, and intellectual property.
10月26日，圣地亚哥华人律师协会（SDCAA）在王志明律师事务所举办了 “法律援助诊所”活动。此次活动为社区民众就家庭婚姻、移民、税务、房产、人身伤害、信托与遗产规划、商业法律及知识产权等多个领域提供了免费的法律咨询服务。
Volunteer attorneys and law students from University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and University of San Diego (USD) law schools provided one-on-one consultations throughout the afternoon.
来自加州大学圣地亚哥分校与圣地亚哥大学法学院的志愿者与律师在整个下午为民众提供了一对一咨询服务。
Attorney Olivia Ren provided practical guidance to participants on issues related to commercial contracts and business disputes, including breach of contract, shareholder conflicts, and partnership disagreements. She helped attendees better understand how to protect their rights through negotiation, mediation, or litigation when commercial disputes arise, and shared tips on how to prevent legal risks through proper contract management.
Olivia Ren律师 在活动中重点讲解了商业合同与商业纠纷处理相关的法律问题，包括合同违约、股东冲突、合伙纠纷等。她向前来咨询的民众详细说明了当商业纠纷发生时，如何通过协商、调解或诉讼保护自身权益，并提醒大家通过规范合同管理来有效防范法律风险。
Attorney Chenyang Yan focused on estate planning and living trusts, answering questions on how to structure personal and family assets to ensure smooth wealth transfer and tax efficiency. She emphasized the importance of planning ahead to avoid probate and legal disputes, and introduced common trust structures suitable for families in California.
阎晨阳律师围绕信托和资产规划主题为到场民众提供解答。她详细解释了如何通过合理的信托结构安排，实现资产的有效传承与税务优化，强调了提前规划以避免遗嘱认证程序（probate）和家庭纠纷的重要性，并结合加州实际介绍了多种常见的信托工具。
Attorney Yan Gao offered clear explanations on immigration law, including green card applications, work visas, and family-based petitions. She guided participants through the basic legal framework of the U.S. immigration system and addressed many common questions faced by new immigrants, providing practical legal perspectives and resources.
高艳律师重点讲解了移民法相关内容，涵盖绿卡申请、工作签证、亲属移民等常见主题。她结合自身丰富的实务经验，帮助在场民众了解美国移民法律的基本框架，解答了许多新移民在身份申请和维持过程中常遇到的实际问题，并提供了实用的法律建议。
Attorney Aaron Li provided guidance on tax compliance and planning, including individual income tax obligations, business tax considerations, and common IRS procedures. He explained how residents and small business owners can stay compliant, avoid unnecessary penalties, and make use of available tax credits and deductions.
李元功律师重点为民众解答了税务法律相关的问题，涵盖个人所得税、企业纳税义务以及与美国国税局（IRS）打交道时的常见流程。他提醒居民与小企业主重视合规申报，合理规划税务，并充分利用各类可享受的抵扣与减免政策，以降低潜在风险和成本。
As a government attorney, Attorney Jiaye Zhou shared her personal career journey and insights from working in the public sector. She encouraged law students to explore different legal career paths and discussed the unique responsibilities and opportunities in government legal work, inspiring many aspiring young lawyers at the event.
周佳叶律师以政府律师的身份，与在场的法学院学生分享了自己的职业经历与心得。她鼓励年轻的法律人拓宽视野，积极了解公职法律职业的特点与责任，并强调了公共法律服务在社会中的重要性，激励了许多正在职业探索阶段的学生。
Attorney Qin Li, introduced investment and financing legal matters, focusing on how community members can understand and navigate U.S. business law when starting or expanding their businesses. He also shared personal experiences with law students, encouraging them to integrate international perspectives into their legal careers.
李钦律师，在活动中为民众讲解了投融资相关法律事务，特别是初创企业及中小企业在美国经营时需要注意的法律与合规问题。他还与法学院学生分享了自己的执业经历，鼓励青年律师关注国际视野，拓展职业发展的可能性。
Although traveling on business, Attorney Yihong Zhong provided family and marriage law consultations to participants remotely via phone and Zoom. Specializing in divorce, custody, spousal support, and other family law matters, Attorney Zhong offered practical guidance to community members on protecting their rights and understanding relevant legal procedures. His participation allowed attendees to receive professional legal information regardless of location.
钟宜宏律师专精于家事法与婚姻案件，虽然活动当天正在外地出差，但仍通过电话及Zoom视频连线，为到场民众提供了远程法律咨询。他重点解答了离婚、抚养权、赡养费等婚姻家庭相关问题，向大家讲解如何在法律框架下保障自身权益、理解诉讼与非诉程序。钟律师的参与让活动更具广泛性，也确保更多民众能够获得专业的法律信息支持。
Attorney Zhiming Wang shared his extensive experience in personal injury and car accident cases. He provided clear guidance on how to handle claims after accidents, what evidence to collect, and how insurance companies typically operate. He also answered questions about medical expenses, liability disputes, and compensation strategies.

In addition to legal consultations, Attorney Zhiming Wang also engaged in a warm exchange with event volunteers, sharing stories and lessons from his more than ten years of practice. His reflections on community service and professional growth resonated strongly with the young law students present.
