On the evening of July 19, 2026, a reelection campaign fundraiser for San Diego City Councilmember Kent Lee was grandly held at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Zhiming Wang, Esq., President of the San Diego Chinese Attorneys Association (SDCAA), led a delegation of board members and members to the event, including Vice President Yan Ren, Esq., Secretary Qin Li, Esq., Board Members Aaron Li, Esq., Chenyang Rickard, Esq., and Jiaye Zhou, Esq., as well as members Junqiao Xiao, Esq. and Chuan He, Esq. Their attendance underscored the local legal community’s strong support for Chinese American civic engagement.
2026年7月19日傍晚，圣地亚哥市议员肯特·李（Kent Lee）的连任竞选筹款会在 Pacific Highlands Ranch 盛大举行。圣地亚哥华人律师协会会长王志明律师率代表团应邀出席，包括副会长任岩律师、秘书长李钦律师、理事 Aaron Li 律师、阎晨阳律师、周佳叶律师，以及会员肖俊俏律师、何川律师等。代表团以实际行动展现了本地律政专业人士对华人参政议政的积极支持。
The fundraiser featured a distinguished guest appearance by Mr. Haipei Shue, a nationally renowned social activist and President of United Chinese Americans (UCA). Originally from Chongqing, Mr. Shue graduated from Sichuan International Studies University in 1982 and later pursued graduate studies in the United States after working in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone. As the first and only registered Chinese American political lobbyist on Capitol Hill, he played a historic role in advocating for China’s Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) trade status and its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He previously served as Director of the U.S.-China Affairs Committee, made significant contributions to President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and currently serves as Chairman of the National Committee of Chinese Americans and as an Asian American Affairs Advisor to major national campaign teams.
本次筹款会特别邀请到了全美著名社会活动家、全美华人联合会（UCA）会长薛海培先生作为重磅嘉宾出席。薛海培先生祖籍重庆，1982年毕业于四川外国语大学，后经珠海经济特区赴美留学。作为美国国会注册的首位及唯一一位华人政治游说家，他曾为中国取得贸易最惠国待遇（MFN）及加入世界贸易组织（WTO）在国会山奔走游说；他曾任美中事务委员会主任，并在奥巴马竞选总统期间做出重要贡献。薛海培先生现同时担任美国华人全国委员会主席及主流竞选团队的亚裔事务顾问。
The event was filled with a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. During the interactive session, attendees engaged in discussions regarding local community development, city planning, and future visions with Councilmember Kent Lee. As the representative for District 6 and current President Pro Tempore of the San Diego City Council, Councilmember Lee shared his practical achievements in advancing neighborhood road repairs, upgrading park facilities, and introducing greater fiscal transparency and accountability into the municipal budget process.
活动现场气氛十分热烈。在互动环节中，与会嘉宾及现场人士围绕本地社区发展、城市未来规划等核心议题与市议员 Kent Lee 展开了深入交流。作为第 6 选区代表及现任市议会副议长，Kent Lee 详细介绍了他在社区道路修缮、公园公共设施建设，以及推动市财政预算透明与问责机制方面的实效成果。
Notably, the event saw active participation from many Chinese American youth, who asked numerous interactive questions throughout the evening. Attendees emphasized that encouraging broader civic and political engagement among Chinese American youth is of paramount significance for advancing the political voice, representation, and overall standing of the Chinese American community in the United States.
